Locally known as the Q Bridge, this bridge spans 4,735 ft with about a 1,000 ft-long concrete section of the bridge. Lumina Lidar provided crack detection on the exterior and interiors of the concrete section for ATANE and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT).
Lumina Lidar used a drone on the exterior surfaces of the bridge with payloads like a thermal camera, aerial LiDAR, and a high-resolution camera. Terrestrial LiDAR is also used to collect high-accuracy data to get the accurate crack locations. The data collected were processed in an automated process for a precise and timely result.
