Calf Pasture Beach
Calf Pasture Beach is a park owned and operated by the City of Norwalk. The park is located adjacent to the Long Island Sound. The site consists of recreational spaces, playing fields, shorefront, associated structures, parking, and roadways. The project consisted of new parking lot entrances and exits, parking spaces, roads, curbs, and sidewalks. Lumina Lidar provided a digital twin LiDAR survey using aerial technology, LiDAR measurements, and delivered geospatial planimetric data and a digital file containing GPS and total station control data. The digital elevation model (DEM) was used by designers in the creation of improvements. Lumina Lidar was responsible for inspection of improvements and retrofit of roads, sidewalks, drainage, utilities, parking areas, and common areas. Our firm was also responsible for the investigation of catch basins and drainage piping in order to modernize all existing drainage structures. Environmental barriers were overseen due to the site’s proximity to the Long Island Sound. Our firm made recommendations to the City for the potential remediation of the existing catch basins, piping and infrastructure upgrades.
